If Colorwall is not able to set wallpaper on your desktop, the reason for that is:

  • You don't have correct wallpaper changer backend selected in Colorwall's settings. To confim Open Settings dialog and confirm if correct backend is selected, for example if you are using Gnome desktop environment, select gnome as option.

  • You might have installed Colorwall using snap or flatpak and you are using desktop environment other than Gnome or KDE, In that case you can use your system's background selector in this way:

    mkdir -p ~/.local/share/wallpapers && ln -s ~/Downloads/ColorWall/ ~/.local/share/wallpapers/colorwall

    The command will create a softlink to ColorWall download directory inside user's wallpaper directory which KDE's wallpaper selector looks for.
