Use the PERIOD key [.] to get a dot above/below or a ring below a character, e.g. r [.] > ṛ , ṛ [.] > r̥ , n [.] > ṅ , ṅ [.] > ṇ , m [.] > ṁ , ṁ [.] > ṃ , t [.] > ṭ , g [.] > ġ etc.
