  • .../cmd/kubeone-remote/ for the binary
  • .../pkg/<xyz>/ for the functionalities or toolings

this means cloning the kubeone repo in a first instance and working on a branch for kubeone-remote there, right?

Right now as we only call kubeone it's no cloning. It stays this repo as is with a new branch kubeone-remote-go. We'll create the PRs from out development branches into that one. In the end we'll drop the old code and more into master.

The integration into kubeone will be a later step. But we'll try to stay conforming to kubeone from beginning to simplify the later merging.
