Give plugin ability to move commits around

A follow-on from #30, a Plugin should eventually be able to check itself out from a git upstream by commit sha.

"If necessary, a Plugin/Driver should be able to interact with the git upstream hosted on Github to checkout a historical version of that Plugin or Driver."

This might be tough to do, but I think we need it.
