I'm used to in-person conferences, so a tad confused on digital ones...

You tagged me on twitter, thanks, so trying to figure this out:

It says I submit to FOSDEM, so what is ?this? github repo?, just friendly reminder to people to submit to FOSDEM?

Or is ?this? github repo... itself like a conference or a talk? In which case, why am I not submitting to you directly?

Or finally, maybe its you guys are hosting an event at FOSDEM? In which case, was this pre-approved by them, or anyone can, or what is the benefits of having the talk here in this event/track versus some other event/track?

Thanks!

Hi Mark!
To submit your talk/workshop to FOSDEM Web3 track you'd need to do it via their own system -- pentabarf. For that, please create an account via https://penta.fosdem.org/submission/FOSDEM22. Once you logged in (remember your login, it's not your email!), "create event". Complete all the fields and tabs. In the field "track" select "Web3 infrastructure" (last one).

The conference will be done via matrix (element) chats/rooms like last year. Selected speakers upload videos of the talks to pentabarf system in advance, then the speaker shows up in the chat and answers questions after the talk on the day of the conference, February 6th.

We are with Eric Bear are hosting the web3 infrastructure room, it was approved by FOSDEM. We expect people interested in web3 to come to listen to the talks at this track/devroom.
