It defaults to your system/device theme. If you're seeing light mode (and haven't manually changed the setting), it means your system/device is set to light mode. |

The background of the page should be dark by default, many chess.com players are freaked out by seeing a white background color and I don't blame them, it's irritating to the eyes.
