Pairing your device
Pairing is automatically handled by enoceanmqtt through the Python EnOcean library.
Hence, except for some devices not fully supported for now, typically Eltako devices, you don't need to use DolphinView for pairing.
Note also that with enoceanmqtt, pairing is not required for unidirectional sensors.
As those sensors broadcast their data, enoceanmqtt is able to access and decode those data without requiring to be paired to the sensor.
Pairing is only needed when your device needs to be controlled from Home Assistant, typically actuators, lights, etc.
When pairing is needed for your device, use the following procedure:
- Follow the instructions of your device regarding pairing to put it in pairing mode.
- Once your device is in pairing mode, go to Settings
- → Devices & Services
- → Under Mosquitto Broker click on xx devices
- → Select the
ENOCEANMQTT
device - → Turn on the
LEARN
switch.
The pairing response will be submitted automatically.
Do not forget to turn off the LEARN
switch once pairing is completed to avoid unwanted pairing with other devices.
