currently the files won't be saved anywhere by SDB but are ephemeral, so the users have to take care of saving the images themselves

Sometimes images and/or videos should be shown to the audience. Of course it's possible to use other programs for that, but experience shows that it more disturbing than a simple fade-over in SDB would be: sometimes windows need to be dragged to the presentation screen, the close button has to be hit afterwards...
It would be better if the Song Database could (planned or spontaneously) import images and videos and arrange them like songs. If a file is imported, it should be copied to a temporary directory because often these files come on USB drives which should be returned to the owner quickly.
It should also be possible to import images or videos permanently, so they can be used regularly. Maybe the files could be copied into a subdirectory of the "songs" directory to preserve them.
Warning: The remote (MQTT) part will need special attention.
