Meower needs accessibility features in the long-term. Making Meower to be more open to people is a good idea

Possible accessibility features to consider:

  • Text size options
  • High contrast theme
  • Proper tab key support
  • Option to switch to accessible fonts such as Atkinson Hyperlegible
  • Proper screen reader support if we don't already have that
  • Reduced motion option
  • Text to speech option (would be chaotic though)
  • More specific keyboard shortcuts
  • Option to add alt text to images

These are just a few of the things we could implement to provide better accessibility to Meower

The first part is actually the file name.
hill.png is a lot less descriptive than A hill on a sunny day with yellow flowers

Also, images a more of a beta 6 thing

@ArrowAced instead of allowing a user to switch to just an accessible font, why not allow anyone to set a custom font? Otherwise this sounds good

I’ve had issues with user custom fonts on websites before.

@ArrowAced I've only seen issues when websites use their own custom fonts for stuff like icons, which they shouldn't do

@ArrowAced I recommend using Atkinson Hyperlegible Pro because the original type face hasn't received any updates since its release. I have added 199 extra glyph's supporting 91 languages including Vietnamese.
