Need to propagate sample number through the receive pipeline and correlate that back to start time of reception.

Is this ticket saying that the timestamps displayed in the pcap aren't the actual timestamps when the packets were received? (but rather the time after they were processed?) If so, what is the anticipated skew between the two?
