A (niche) use of the alerts and register of interest is as a tool for tracking the debates and actions of clients who are political exposed persons.
It would be nice, while splitting up person alerts into speeches and votes, to add an option to get an alert on new registered interests - or even in general to be able to do keyword search for the register through the search.
We store a string of the html for the current index, and the comparison is done off the XML files.
One approach would be to have another process feed in "new interests on this day" and person alerts feed that in without being based in the search (as the votes bit must work?)
As part of another ticket, I suggest changing the html bit to a json so we can do more formatting later on. We could also do this as a new table, and index that table?
This feels out of scope for the current round, but would like to understand the options. We have other ways of making this information available.

HOWEVER - we currently do not store registers of interest in a useful way in the database.
