Hello,
a friend of mine begged me to post an issue concerning the data consumption of the cloudLogOffline-app. He remarked a package of 464 MB after starting the app. I don't know the time period in which this data is consumed, but he is worried about what's going on there.
So please check this issue and let me/us know, which data is downloaded or uploaded by the app, producing this huge amount of MB.

I assumed, that there is only a few MB of downloading some repeater-data or communication with the cloudlog-instance. But this wouldn't explain the high rate of data consumption.

As a personal purpose please let me know, if there's a way, to geht the APK-File for my mobile device on Android 11 without Google-Services?!

Thanks and 73

I can't say much about the Android app but I do have changes in #109 which add local caching for the repeater DB. My notes say the repeater DB download is only 5 MB (in my local tests).

Hello Kai.
Thanks for your reply. The issue occures on iphones, i'm not familiar with iphone-handling and how many data is needed to start any application or so. But my OM remarked that it is a lot more than 5MB, goes up to 400MB.
It seems to be a data amount not relating to first installation and usage afterwards, but more or less everytime you start the app and during its worktime theres this pile of data, which is quite puzzling, because - as you wrote - the data of exchanged repeaters is just a few MB.

Thanks and 73
Cornel

Additional info:
I've got a new Android device and there i installed the current version of CLoffline. Even if a high radius is selected, there is no remarkable data flow in the app and also not in wireshark.

So what's the reason for having this pile of data on apple devices?
