find a way to add a synthetic variant at a nonsense genomic location and on a test primer set to get an end-to-end test.
maybe we can add a test chromosome to avoid any possible future interaction with real primer sets.

Because you mentioned the notification system the other day, is this still valid? Or is the new thing totally unrelated?
