What does your feature request improve on? Please describe.
Using something like signstore ('A non-profit, public good software signing & transparency service') to sign windows releases would probably help with Windows Defender SmartScreen pop-ups.

Sigstore does not work for Windows systems, because their certificates do not follow Microsoft's requirements. But it seems that MS Azure will allow for "cheap" certificates for individuals in the future: Azure/trusted-signing-action#42
