EPub cannot be imported into Play Books on Android #38
Comments
Huh. Thanks very much for reporting that, @pdurbin. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I did test the ePub locally before finalizing and it worked fine in my Linux environment. I don't suppose Google Books provides anything more verbose when it fails? |
@semioticrobotic not really. If you tap the title it says it's corrupt: |
Are you able to load in any other ePub reader and report? Feel free to decline. By reporting a bug you do not need to become the defacto tester. |
I don't know. Can you suggest any ePub readers on F-Droid? |
I tried KOReader and didn't like the interface and it asked for permissions to change settings. Then I tried MuPDF mini and it worked! There's me! |
Yay! So the issue isn't occurring on all Android ePub readers, which is great to know. Now I'll just need to see if I can ferret out the cause of Google's displeasure. Thanks, @pdurbin! |
I noticed #34 was closed and just tried downloading open_org_workbook_1_1_5.epub to my Android phone and opening it which launches Play Books. This works find for lots of epubs but as you can see in the screenshot below "processing" eventually turned into "upload failed".
