What is the best way to preserve newlines (Enter)?

Hi, what is the best strategy to follow to ensure that newlines entered by users when they are in editing mode are preserved in markdown? What I am looking for is the hardbreak behavior without the user having to press Shift + Enter, but with a simple Enter.

I have tried several approaches without success, for example inputRule or node plugins. I would like to change the commonmark preset as little as possible.
