There are ip67 ip68 rated IMU sensors
with additional chip that does Kalman fusion
with client software source code published
with reasonable data rate, and interfaces variety: serial, i2c, Bluetooth
serial interface would allow use windows or Linux machines without i2c interface
Kalman filter running on their hardware would eliminate need to implement it on client side software
ip67 rating is good for a boat. No need to DIY waterproofing.
Some have additional magnetometer chip???
