GitHub is now using tree-sitter-nix for syntax highlighting!

Hi everyone. My name’s Patrick, and I work on the Semantic Code team at GitHub. Part of our job is to maintain the site’s syntax highlighting backends. I’m pleased to announce that said backends are now using tree-sitter-nix, plus its highlighting queries, to power all highlighting of .nix files on GitHub!

Going forward, we’ll be pulling in updates to the Nix grammar, but please feel free to ping me on an issue thread if you have something that needs urgent attention. Since these highlighting queries are, obviously, open source, I hope that this will empower the community to address their needs as Nix grows!
