Add additional attributes to Data Components

Hi, is there a clean way to add additional/custom attributes to Data Components of Object Classes (definitions)? For example a "Use for filtering"-attribute (checkbox). As attributes of an article will be exported to a shop, it should be possible to check if a specific attribute should be used for filtering or not.
