Node shapes

Allow for different node shapes other than disc: square, star, diamond, custom from png,... If already implemented, please provide example. Otherwise it would be a great addition to increase the visual impact and communication value.

Thanks for filing this request. There has been a proposal to incorporate different node shapes into sigma (the underlying library this code uses) at jacomyal/sigma.js#78 . Jacomyal hasn't yet integrated that code and I am hesitant to move away from the standard sigma implementation as it's the most widely used. Nonetheless, I may do so in order to incorporate this and other features more quickly. I can't give an exact expected date on this at the moment, but appreciate reporting the issue here as it helps me prioritize what is most widely needed.
