I gave one of the talks in a user workshop about working with data on the web http://user2016.org/tutorials/04.html - mine was an intro to HTTP in R (materials here https://github.com/sckott/user2016http) - any interest in this for aggregate? could run through it in shortish time or longer if more interest. it has excerises too if people want to do those
