#1326 will disable MPI on the thread and address sanitizer workflows, because they use MPICH, but MPICH is built incorrectly on ubuntu 24.04. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mpich/+bug/2072338 for more details. As soon as that bug is fixed and available in 24.04 we should update the CI image and reenable MPI.
