I would like to have a way to download the raw mail content. As this this not something ordinary users need, we could hide it behind a longer click path.

Within a mail view I would like to have a button raw. When I click on that button, I get a download window and can download the raw content.

Hey, @fbernitt!
Can we consider this as an user feedback?

+1 to this feature, it's really useful for debugging and definitely something that advanced users want to have.
I think that maybe, besides downloading raw mail content, it'd be very useful to have an inline display of the headers, and probably the mime structure. I think roundcube does this. As @fbernitt says, it could be 'hidden' behind an 'advanced' menu.

What do you mean by raw? Should the raw mail be encrypted (key is still on the server side, right?) or not?

I was actually suggesting two different things together:

  1. to have a view source that displays all the sources for the message (we're talking about the decrypted string, the same thing that the client receives to display the mail). This would be the same as "view source" in Thunderbird.
  2. to have some way to display the headers of the message inline (I think pretty much all the webmails also have an option for this). this would allow to quickly inspect the headers withouth having to download or open a new window.

any chance to get this feature merged soonish? I see there was some review going on the associated PR. It would be an awesome feature to have so that we can debug mails in place :)

hey @kalikaneko , we agree it'd be awesome! The changes in the last review should be simple, but we haven't had a chance to prioritize it, so we don't actually have it in our roadmap. Let's see what we can do! ;)
