Hi David,

Not sure if your open to this, but i have couple ideas for content:

Great work and concept! I wish i had this around when I started Feb 19, really struggled to engage with the program (just me finding my place of best usefulness) , i may have engaged sooner to find a project with need.

@pkbullock excellent ideas!!

Guidance on all of that will be making their way's into the live, hands-on sessions.

I'm working on some updated MKDocs to help provide a nicer and less "Code Repo" feel when you land on this repo. I am also working on some videos that help provide a stronger message to the purpose of the initiative.

The two biggest points we are trying to socialize is:

  • This isn't just a repo to teach how to use a repo, but rather a landing spot to connect you to attend live, hands-on sessions where step by step guidance will be provided to better understand the contribution process.

  • The repo provides a safe, sandbox that will also allow us to pre-stage content, such as documentation updates or a folder to practice submitting samples. Being able to "practice" in this repo during the sessions provides a more comfortable experience for new contributors where they don't have to fear making any mistakes to production content.

Thank you for the kind words and we look forward to collaborating with you more! 👍

Hi!

I am wondering when we would be getting the scheduled sessions? :D We are very interested in joining ...

Thanks!

@McDKirra Thank you so much for your interest. I apologize for the delay as I've been traveling.

We would love to have you join any of the sessions. Have you submitted your contact information to the Sharing Is Caring registration form for first-time contributors?

We will be using that to contact and set up the session(s).
