The top bar doesn't always recognise that it needs to hide itself for certain apps.
The top bar will always autohide when a Iced app is open, as expected. Firefox also works fine. I have not tested with other GTK/Qt apps.
Electron apps (Discord and VSCode for me) as well as some games, do not cause the top bar to autohide on its own. It appears as demonstrated in the provided image.
As long as a working app such as COSMIC Files is open in one of the workspaces, this issue will be solved for all other workspaces and the Electron apps will behave normally with the top bar. Closing the working app will cause the top bar in workspaces with Electron apps to reappear again as shown in the image. Tiling windows within the same workspace works in the same way, with the top bar behaving normally for as long as a working app is also open.
I don't think this was always the case. I'm not sure how to get this bug to start happening as once it has, it persists across reboots.
For me I think it begun after opening a combination of VSCode, COSMIC Terminal and running xeyes via that terminal (all tiled in one workspace), then closing the terminal and xeyes. The top bar reappeared over VSCode and the bug has persisted from then on.
Both Wayland and XWayland apps seem to be affected.
