Issue/Bug description:
It would be helpful to have an option in Cosmic Edit settings to enable opening files in new tab rather than opening a new window when one is already open. This can improve the user experience by reducing window clutter and making it easier to manage multiple open files.

Steps to reproduce:

Expected behavior:

  • Open file in new tab when the option Open in new tab is enabled in Cosmic Edit Settings
  • Open file in new window when the option Open in new tab is disabled in Cosmic Edit Settings
