OPL 1.2.0 beta 2169 and newer (tested up to the latest 2173) doesn't read any existing configuration from the internal HDD (APA formatted) and won't write a new one to it. It only writes to the memory card (mc0). If I remove the memory card before saving settings, it gives a writing error.
Also, the games list of the internal HDD (APA) doesn't always show up. Sometimes it needs up to 15 refreshes (select-button) on the APA page to show up. And the per-game configs are not loaded for any APA games (like mode and VMC settings).
This problem even occur if OPL is started from the internal HDD, without any memory card plugged it. The config can't be saved (writing error, but it doesn't even try to write to the HDD) and the APA page also needs many refreshes before the games show up, without per-game configs.
The "Write operations" option is turned on.
The last OPL version without these problems is 1.2.0 beta 2165. Everything newer which I can download from the archive does have these issues, making them unusable with the APA-formatted internal HDD.
I don't know about beta 2166-2168 because these are not available in the archive. 2169 is the next one available.
The network adapter is a original Sony adapter with a Maxtor P-ATA 250GB HDD, APA-formatted.

It feels like these issues are fixed with this beta 2179. It does load the existing config from the internal APA HDD, list it's games and loads the per-game configs. I tried a couple of games and they do work including VMC function. Saving a changed config option does go to the HDD.
