<h1>Help - Soundings</h1>

<p>With the Soundings you can review the soundings in effect on a given
date.</p>
<ul>
  <li>Enter a date.  click on the date text to choose using a calendar.</li>
  <li>Click on the Soundings button.</li>
</ul>

<p>Avadepth displays the soundings report. To print a copy to your printer:</p>
<ul>
  <li>In your browser menu, you can select File|Print to print a hard-copy.</li>
</ul>
<p>To display a riverbed profile:</p>
<ul>
  <li>click on one of the graph tabs to display the riverbed profilea graph
  showing the soundings along the length of the navigation channel compared to
  the nominal profile.</li>
  <li>To print a hard-copy, select click File|Print menu item.</li>
</ul>

<h2>More Information</h2>

<p>Channel soundings vary from time to time due to the effects of
sedimentation, scour and dredging operations. Avadepth maintains a time-series
database of minimum soundings for every one-kilometre interval along the
channel, based on historical survey data, and automatically selects the
soundings data in effect on any date specified by the user.</p>
