In conda-forge (a cross-language, cross-platform, rolling distribution), we'd need pybind11_protobuf for packaging ortools, but it seems there are no versions or tags for this repo.

Would it be possible to tag anything concrete? Doesn't matter if it's 0.0.0.1 or whatever, but as a distributor, we cannot simply "build from a random commit".

Up to now, AFAIK, @rwgk was leading the pybind11 ecosystem (with the help of Junyer 😞 ) but you should take a look at his linkedin profile... ;)

Will try to find out who is now responsible for releasing it...

Also if we can sync with Protobuf for v30.X (January ETA) would be cool https://protobuf.dev/news/2024-10-02/#python
