It means that this row represents current uncommited changeset and clicking on it provides options for making commit, staging/unstaging/discarding files (also with diff for them). In your opinion, should we call this row in some other, more appropriate way? Or maybe we shoud i.e. put username from git config in "Author" column?

I don't know :). But i don't make any changes so why it displays?

yeah it is confusing i think. In other programs i don't see it only when i make changes.
