As noted in #319 , Community is tied to RC in a variety of ways, including use of the RC API for account creation and login, various hard-coded RC specific emails and other config, etc. Factoring RC-specific things out of Community would broaden the pool of potential users of and contributors to the project (and serve to remove a particularly inconvenient dependency for development and testing).
I propose using this issue as a meta/umbrella issue for the identification and adjustment of the places where RC and Community are coupled. @zachallaun , you noted in your comment on #319 that you didn't think it would be very difficult to identify all of those places. If you don't mind pulling together a brief list, I'd be happy to turn it into a set of individual issues so folks can start poking at them.
