# pastel
Pastel is a simple bitmap editor written in rust. 
Compatible with Redox and SDL2 platforms.

Now packaged for Redox !!

To run on Redox simply edit file filesystem.toml and delete '#' before pastel item to enable its compilation.
Then make all to compile Redox and install pastel.
Once Redox is running select pastel from the menu.

To run on Linux install dependencies (rustup, SDL2) and type on terminal
cargo run --release

To run on Windows (msvc) install first rustup with all requierements (C++ build tools for Visual Studio 2013 or later).
When installing rust please use nightly toolchain, then download 

      https://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL2-devel-2.0.5-VC.zip 

and manually copy SDL2.dll and SDL2.lib to

      <user_dir>\.rustup\toolchain\nightly\lib\rustlib\x86_64-pc-windows-msvc\lib 

Then go to pastel directory and at command prompt type :

      cargo run --release



To enable some debug informations you could type:

      RUST_BACKTRACE=1 cargo run --release --features debug
