Heya Ron!

This plugin is almost exactly what we need.

How much trouble would it be to add a user-page that allowed users to generate a one-time invitation code to send to a friend that would allow said friend to register to the site (and probably expire after seven days?)

I know that is an extension on this, but I haven't found anything else that even close. And, honestly, I'd rather support someone that is doing opensource and contributing with something similar to what I need.

ANYWAY, please let me know. Thank you!

Would the friend's registration (account) expire after seven days or is it the registration code/invitation that would expire after seven days? And why not just have the friend register with some provided registration code?

Heya! Thanks for responding! And Sorry or not being clear. The invitation would expire. (That's not critical, but figured it was part of the "whole")

And my idea is that each user would have their own code to avoid code sharing and people signing up who having been invited. EG: If the friend that was invited posted their invite code, the "unwashed masses" could register. That would be the reason for the one time use as well. It also has the advantage of making sure that the user who invited this person can be held accountable for that new user's orientation and behavior while they are getting rolled into the community. Kinda like they become the new person's mentor. (which is, in fact, accurate. :) )

Thank you again!

A little short on time and energy for a while but the idea is intriguing and I'll look into it when I can.
