Pre-Submit Checklist:

What worked?
Nothing

What did not work?
Everything

Debug Information:

OS: Linux Mint 22 x86_64
Kernel: 6.8.0-49-generic
Desktop Env: Cinnamon 6.2.9

Downloaded: https://updates.safing.io/latest/linux_amd64/packages/portmaster-installer.deb
Installed via terminal command: sudo gdebi portmaster-installer.deb

Installed successfully. Rebooted. Logged into computer/desktop. Immediately noticed that I could not connect to anything, or any website... basically, my network was bricked. Noticed system tray icon for Portmaster and right-clicked it and attempted to Open the GUI. Black GUI window appeared, and stayed black. Attempted to close the GUI but id did nothing. The only thing I could do with the GUI was minimize it. The ONLY option I was left with was to run this terminal command: sudo apt purge portmaster --autoremove
Once that was done, I got my network back.

As a new Linux user (6 mos. old), I'm going to assume that Portmaster is NOT compatible with my Linux Mint environment. Would love to know when (if ever) it would be, because the showcase of what this app can do is exactly what I need.

Anyway, I was asked by your site to "Help make the Portmaster better for everyone by [reporting your experience]", so that's what I'm doing... reporting my experience.

Sincerely wish everyone reading and involved much fortune and peace.

Hey @XIAIX-code, thank you for reporting on a compatibility.

We keep a list of compatible software and user provided guides for improving compatibility in the wiki - please have a look there.
If you can't find your software in the list, then a good starting point is our guide on How do I make software compatible with Portmaster.

If you have managed to establish compatibility with an application, please share your findings here. This will greatly help other users encountering the same issues.
