We've had one author request that we submit our content to be indexed by Scopus, to aid their paper's visibility in their field (medical). It looks like we can request for SciPy to be reviewed for inclusion by their editorial board here, with two caveats:
We first need an ethics and a malpractice statement (which is fine); and
Scopus is owned by Elsevier.
I'm generally in favor taking any action that promotes the visibility of work from the SciPy community, but I also know that some people have strong feelings about academic publishing companies. As such, I would like to invite input from community members about whether they feel this would be a good step to take.
