Hiring REST API

This project provides a REST API for managing a hiring platform, allowing users to create, retrieve, update, and delete information related to job listings, candidates, and hiring processes. Built with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, this API is designed for scalability and easy integration with front-end applications.

Prerequisites

  • Node.js: v12 or higher
  • MongoDB: Ensure MongoDB is installed and running locally or provide a connection string for a MongoDB cloud instance.

Install project dependencies with:

npm install

Running the Project

To start the development server, run:

npm run dev

The server will start on http://localhost:4000.

Future Enhancements

  • Pagination and Filtering: Add options for pagination and advanced filtering for large datasets.
  • Improved Security: Implement rate-limiting, input sanitization, and CSRF protection.
  • Notification System: Notify candidates of application status updates via email or SMS.
