Develop new singular method to handle disabled/expired routes
Currently announcements have both an expiration date and a "status" option. Announcements that are manually disabled are marked with a 1 in the status option, however announcements that pass the expiration date are not marked with a 1. This use of two different methods to mark non-active announcements could lead to potential problems as we scale.
Possible ideas
Remove status option and simply change the expiration date of the announcement to whatever day it gets marked as disabled. This could help track when announcements actually expired.
