Can I use package with php 7?

I have php 7.4 version and willn't be able to upgrade to php 8.

Cannot use spatie/laravel-slack-alerts's latest version 1.1.1 as it requires php ^8.0 which is not satisfied by your platform.

would it be a good idea to use an older version?
