K8s with Flannel for 7.2 split

Hello,

We are trying to setup a K8s cluster for the core and gNB (CU&DU), then connect it to the external RU.

We see in the provided tutorial, the cluster is using Calico as the CNI. So we are wondering if there is any specific reasons to choose Calico?

Our thinking is that, the RU is directly connected to the gNB pod with the independent interface, and the pod is set as hostNetwork: true, so the CNI should not affect the traffic between them. We would like to use Flannel for convenience, would this cause any potential issues?

Any hints would be much appreciated!

It is verified that K8S with Flannel (L3 CNI) can also host gNB with 7.2 split.

By the way, I always find it hard to follow the official tutorial for installing Kubernetes and Calico. This website provides clear, step-by-step instructions. I would suggest using this as a reference if anyone wants to setup K8s and Calico.
