feature request: Negative Width, or opposite width

Describe the feature

I would like to define width of the navigation negativelly, as I know I need my max chars on python to 88, I want the "rest" of the width for the navigation bar.

Provide background

I usually work on a vertical screen, and I have smaller width of my code 88 or 80, having some extra space that I wanted to add features. That's how I got to this plugin

What is the significance of this feature?
