the top level navigation #site-header is positioned absolute so is out of flow when admin interface is on top. Also it leaks on smaller screens (let and right sides coming together). Finally it would be nice if additional menu items on either side didn't leak down the page.

The first two points have been covered on this one, the last point however (links leaking down the page if more than one line) will need some attention. This might not e possible with the current setup of using the table-caption to position the nav.
