Youtube player button not working on iPad

The player button from the mediaelement player is not working on the iPad when a Youtube-video is implemented as a content element. The Youtube-video can be played with the big red button in the middle of the video, but does not work with the small button from the player (at the bottom left). The player button is working fine on other devices than the iPad and also works for videos implemented with "own" video files (.mp4, .ogv, etc.) on iPad.
