Also build scripts are bash scripts but MacOS has moved on to zsh. Make mention that you need bash shell to start.

hi glen. those are all good points and in general i am lacking detailed navigation directions through this thicket of code. i am considering starting a youtube channel with videos on different aspects of my libraries. would that be something interesting to you?

I’m not into videos but the typical young developer seems to love them. My own view is anything more than a half page of documentation is too much to read, never mind write. I suggest starting with a blank system and just writing down the major steps you took to build up the utilities. The README doesn’t seem to mention the compilers you may need to start.
