v0.99.1 Preview
This minor release contains more fixes and one new feature...
- You can now skip to the next or previous video
- More tweaks to Capabilities screen to show more info, make things a little clearer
- Fixed a few rare crashes reported by Firebase
- Fixed a bug where duplicate videos weren't removed properly. Local videos should be chosen over remote versions if they use the same filename
Assuming no issues, this should be the final preview before releasing to the Play Store.
Thank you to everyone who downloaded the app, continues to use it, gave feedback, and reported bugs! 🥳
v0.99 Preview
This is a big release so please take 30 seconds to read about the changes below...
Major changes
- This fork of the app is now called Aerial Views so it can be released in the Play Store
- Aerial Views installs as a new app, so please double check all the settings again
- There will be a new icon but it’s not ready yet, so a boring temporary icon is being used (apologies!)
- The menus have been re-organised a bit, hopefully simpler and the grouping makes sense
New features
- "Skip Next" feature can be disabled which means any button press will exit the screensaver
- Media buttons will exit the screensaver and be passed to the app in the background
- Added tvOS 15 videos. All the older videos plus 16 new ones!
- Locations will be displayed for Apple videos stored on a network share (only local storage was supported previously)
- Locations will be shown for older versions of videos too (ie. tvOS 12, 13, etc)
- Ability to change playback speed (1x, 2x etc) . Thanks to @marcopar for his work on this!
Fixes and improvements
- Fixed a few crashes reported via Firebase
- Capabilities should be easier to understand (Settings > Performance & Debug > Capabilities)
v0.98.2 Preview
This minor release contains more fixes...
- Fixes to how network credentials are parsed and used, plus more logging
- Fixed issues with anonymous (ie. no username and password) network access
- If the screensaver activates over a video app (eg. Plex, Netflix, etc), pressing play on a remote will now quit the screensaver and resume video playback of the video app
- Fixed a couple of rare exceptions that can happen but shouldn't crash the app itself
NOTE: If you are still having issues with certain features or the app crashes sometimes - please do get in touch!
