Hi, I installed the add-on to my local nextcloudpi. It is not exposed to the internet and there seems to be no way to ignore the missing certificate.

Do I have to get a certificate installed on the nextcloudpi to make this work?

Hi,
if you want to use https with your NextcloudPi, you'll need certificates for your Nextcloud that your smartphone trusts.
So options are:

  • to use http, if you only use your Nextcloud in your local network (not so good),
  • to get valid TLS certificates from e.g. LetsEncrypt for your pi (maybe a bit difficult)
  • or to import the self-signed certificates into your smartphone, so that it trusts the certificate from your Nextcloud. However, I don't exactly know how this works, you'll have to find that out yourself I fear. (probably the best option if you are the only user of your Nextcloud)
