I couldn't quite figure this out, or perhaps we shouldn't even do it, your call.

if this then that would be an option.

If GitHub issue is created then email [email protected]

...assuming the google group will allow it to post - maybe you'll have to find out which email address it sends from to add to the group.

IfTTT seems to be an excellent thing, but I can't get google groups to accept it.

Maybe it's because I email me then use my filter to send the email on to google groups or maybe it's because nobody as [email protected] has clicked on the link google emailed to prove they were a real person!

The fact that IfTTT have 'github issues' as an option means there must be an API available so I suppose I would write something that checked and sent the message from my mail server (as me)

Have you considered setting up a slack.com site for this project? (Or I
could do it if there were the demand...)

Very handy, and you can assign all types of notifications to appear on a
channel.

slack.com also looks excellent.

Probably not enough people actively involved with pi3d development for it
to be worth setting anything up, but I might have a play for future
reference.

I use it at work, and it's so slick and smooth, [insert tasteless metaphor
here].
