ok, it seems that I have figured out method 1 of 3. Press TAB to switch to Filters editor area. The filters editor area lists keyboard shortcuts that can be used:
When creating new "filter-in" the current text of the filter is not printed in the edit area, but it applied in real time to existing viewer area. So, that's the indication of currently matched content. I think I originally tried to issue "filter-in" command and got confused with its completion options. |

Pressing colon ( The online help should also popup after entering the command name and show a description of the command and some examples.
Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean by this, can you elaborate or include a screenshot. |

Pressing colon (|:|) will enter the command-mode. Then, type in
|filter-in| (or just |filin| and then |TAB| to auto-complete). After
that, you'll want to enter the regex that you want to match against.
You can press |TAB| to auto-complete text that is currently displayed
in the main view. For example, if there is a long identifier, you
should be able to enter the first few letters and then press |TAB| to
complete the rest of it.
The online help should also popup after entering the command name and
show a description of the command and some examples.

Hi,
I have a basic usability question. I can't quite get the interaction model (sequence with which to press keys) to turn on :filter-in command. Can someone explain that to me?
