Not loading at startup

Hi,

First of all, thank you for maintaining this project, BetterDiscord was the only reason why I was using the Electron app, but now, thanks to this extension, I enjoy its comfort in my already always open browser.

However, here's an issue : it doesn't load a startup (i.e. when the browser automatically reopens tabs at launch), but only after manually refreshing the tab once.

This is not a duplicate of #19 because no BetterDiscord error is thrown : it's just not loading at all.

thank you for the report! Please look at the developer console (F12) and provide a short log the next time this occurs, this will hopefully help me to understand what is going on.

I suspect this is due to a combination of several factors:

• Chome will shut down service workers on certain occasions. I suspect hibernate/resume might be one of them.
• Discord probably signals an internal reload/reconnect. The extension is most likely not built to handle that.
• The IndexedDB connection might have closed, causing the VFS to be unavailable.

I will try to work on this based on the information I receive; however, as you already pointed out, reloading the page is probably a much simpler workaround. A glance at Chrome's documentation did not reveal any immediate way to test hibernate/resume behaviours, making this a bit of a pain to test.

Possible causes: the network is offline, Origin is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin, the page is being unloaded, etc.

thank you so much for the log entries! From the provided log, the following points are likely the cause:

The extension does initialize properly (this is good!).

However, when the extension finishes initialization Discord is already past the CONNECTION_OPEN event; thus, BdBrowser has "missed" its chance to inject the BetterDiscord renderer payload (the log entry "[BDBrowser] [Frontend] Registering callback." is the last one, indicating that BdBrowser waits for the CONNECTION_OPEN).

In the past, BdBrowser had a workaround for this, however, that caused BdBrowser to be initialized on unwanted pages (i.e. for OAuth).

I can re-implement the setImmediate code path behind an option toggle, allowing users to decide which behaviour they prefer.

Pure functionality-wise, there should be no issue. The renderer simply doesn't need to load.

the page loads faster than the extension and it seems that there is no way to fix it
