Bugs/Enhancements in Nav Sidebar - Homepage #623

There are a couple of bug in sidebar.

The toggle switch doesn't work in the sidebar when clicked. Toggle switch must be able to switch the theme of the sidebar between light and dark.
This test has been done on safari browser.
The hover over menu items is not UI friendly. there is a need to improve the readability with better UX standards.

UI enhancement of the sidebar similar to below to start with toggling between light and dark mode.

@tushargupta1504 I would like to work on this issue as part of Hacktoberfest or GSSoC initiatives
