Is it possible to manually add data to the dev environment?

Using the api I can send a curl request to api/send and get the "events" data to display but all other categories (pages,os,etc.) display "No data available". How can I populate these different categories? I've tried manually inserting data into the tables but can't get it to work, hoping theres a better way.
